In his view, the establishment of RFID technology standards in the food industry will have a "three wins" effect. For the country, the establishment of such standards is of great significance to the construction of a food safety credit system, the traceability of food safety guarantees, the prediction and management of food safety crises, and the fight against biological terrorism. For consumers, the introduction of RFID standards can not only ensure peace of mind, but also can lock down problem nodes as soon as possible in the event of a food safety crisis to ensure timely recovery of losses.

According to Qian Heng, the National Food Traceability Technical Sub-Committee has initially formulated the framework of China's food traceability standard system, which is divided into a general layer, a basic layer and a special layer. However, he pointed out that although there are a large number of enterprises in the food industry in China, most of them are small in scale and lack the backbone enterprises that specifically apply RFID technology and food traceability management models. The lack of independent research and development and innovation capabilities, and the temporarily intensive scale application advantages have all become the bottleneck of RFID standardization in China's food industry.

Qian Heng said that the lack of RFID standards makes food companies have no standards to rely on when experimenting with RFID technology. The inconsistency of RFID standards can easily lead to incompatible RFID interfaces between enterprises, resulting in a "three disadvantages" situation, which is not good for food The application and promotion of RFID technology in the traceability field is not conducive to the large-scale development and field expansion of RFID technology manufacturers, and it is not conducive to the rapid formation of the food Internet of Things.
