1) Airport baggage management

Airports and airlines are working to use RFID to enhance baggage tracking, distribution and transmission. Compared with the traditional baggage bar code management, the RFID baggage management system can read the tags from a long distance, and the recognition speed is faster and the result is more accurate, so that the baggage handling system of the airport can track the baggage more accurately and help the baggage to be delivered in time.

2) E-ticket

An electronic ticket is an electronic form of a paper ticket. It stores the ticket information in the reservation system, and can perform the operations such as issuing tickets, invalidating, refunding, changing the transfer, etc. like a paper ticket. Passengers do not need to get a traditional paper ticket, as long as they use the ID card and the electronic ticket order number, they can get the boarding pass directly on the plane at the airport airline's special counter one hour before the plane takes off, thus avoiding the ticket. Lost or forgotten, you can't board the plane.

3) Vehicle monitoring and dispatching in the airport

The on-site vehicle monitoring command and dispatch system based on GPS/BDS/GLONASS, RS, RFID, GIS, network technology and database technology has been widely used in large airports at home and abroad.

In particular, RFID has been successfully applied to airport freight management, which enables real-time, accurate and complete recording and tracking of goods. It can comprehensively and efficiently strengthen the management from production, transportation to sales, and provide various improvements. 4) Security management

The application of RFID in security prevention mainly includes: airport security management, employee management, and crossing vehicle management. Through RFID technology, the blacklist can send a warning signal when passing the checkpoint, and quickly indicate the person's baggage, so that the manager can find out the baggage to do the relevant work in time and accurately, and better prevent the terrorist incident.

2. Status of standardization of RFID technology in the aviation field

In terms of the development of RFID basic standards, the two major international standards organizations (ISO/IEC) and EPC global have established a relatively complete set of radio frequency identification standards, including air interface protocol standards and protocol conformance test standards. , label data standards, etc.

3. Particularity of RFID applications in the aviation field

Different from general RFID applications, the application of RFID in the aviation field has certain specialities. First of all, the application environment is different. The RFID control items in the aviation field are generally based on metal or composite materials. 

Metal-resistant electronic label

In RFID applications, there is no “one size fits all” label, so developing and producing labels for various purposes is the key to solving the problem. Metal objects have a large impact on the performance of UHF tags. 

High-capacity electronic label

RFID is used in general fields such as fast cancellation, and the electronic tag memory has 96-bits, which can be expanded to 512 bits of memory. 512bits usually contain 95 characters or 120 digits and are not suitable for mandatory identification standards in the aerospace industry:

4. Application of RFID technology in China's aviation field

In the aviation field, both military aircraft and regional passenger aircraft, domestic large aircraft, have entered a rapid development track. The application of RFID technology in China's aviation field is divided into military and civilian applications according to large industries. On the whole, in terms of the application effect of RFID, civilian use is greater than military use. In the military field, especially in the field of military aircraft production, it is subject to many factors such as confidentiality, and the development is slow, but the demand for RFID applications is urgent. 

5. Conclusions and prospects

With the continuous advancement of RFID technology, with the deepening of military-civilian integration, the application cost of RFID technology will gradually decrease, the barriers of RFID application will be less and less, and the application of RFID in the aviation field will be deeper and deeper.
